Trust in a China freight forwarder is evidence collected before the booking, not a feeling after the vessel has sailed. You evaluate a house the way you evaluate a scope: named place, cost groups, milestone clock, documents, customs identity, and a packing plan that can survive the handoff.
This article is an evaluation script for 2026. Use it on the shortlist before money moves. Planning bands are not live quotes. Xinhan Logistics will evaluate your cargo card and return a written quotation, not a trust slogan.
Evaluate before the factory says cargo is ready tomorrow. A rushed evaluation is just a price screenshot. You want a named place that survives the quote, a document freeze that happens before cutoff, and an importer sentence finance can post. Those three tests beat a week of logo collecting. If a house fails one of them, keep the longlist moving.
Trust is also a destuff name, a CY name, and a truck rule. Houses that cannot name those are asking you to evaluate a feeling. Do not book a feeling. Book a product. Send the same card to each shortlisted house so the evaluation is comparable. If they rewrite the place, they have evaluated themselves.
1. Write the evaluation scorecard before you read their website
If you start on the website, you will evaluate design. Start on your cargo card. Packed sizes, origin city, named place, Incoterm, commodity, DDP or collect. The house is trustworthy when their reply can live on that card without rewriting the place.
2. Evaluate ownership, not adjectives
Trustworthy houses name who receives at origin, who files export, who destuffs or opens CY, who files import, and who trucks. Adjectives are free. Owners are expensive. Ask for the owners in the quote email. If you get a paragraph of reliable, you have evaluated a brochure.
3. Process evaluation: can they walk the chain in order
Ask them to walk ready date to door in the order the cargo moves. Professionals can do it without skipping destuff. Untrustworthy houses jump from factory to vessel to door as if CFS and brokers were decoration. The walk is the evaluation.
4. Cost evaluation: groups, exclusions, and the tax sentence
A trustworthy quote lists origin, main carriage, destination, and whether duty and destination tax are inside. It does not publish a fake today’s market rate as a live number in a blog tone. It invites a cargo card. Compare groups, not a single cell in a spreadsheet.
5. Transit evaluation: milestones beat tattoos
Ask for the pieces: origin receiving, export, main carriage, destuff or CY, clearance, truck. Sea LCL packed-to-door often plans 5 to 9 weeks when destuff is real. Air still includes clearance. A house that will only tattoo 30 days has failed the transit evaluation.
6. Pre-booking evaluation table
| Test | Pass | Fail |
|---|---|---|
| Named place | Repeats your CY, CFS, or door city | Changes it to a famous port |
| LCL/FCL crossover | Prices both near 12 to 18 CBM | Sells only their favourite |
| Documents | Lists freeze items before cutoff | Book first |
| Customs | Importer sentence in writing | We handle customs |
| Exception | Roll vs air with clocks | We will see |
Run the table on paper. Do not run it in your head after a friendly call.
7. What documents to evaluate before you share a deposit
Their quote PDF or email groups. Their document checklist. Their insurance option. Your own invoice draft quality. Evaluate whether they noticed a missing HS-friendly description. A house that ignores a vague description will ignore a hold later.
- Invoice and packing list consistency.
- Wood and battery notes.
- Importer number if you are collect.
- Receiving constraints if you are door.
8. DDP vs port delivery evaluation
If you asked for DDP, evaluate whether they named the importer model and the tax cash. If you asked for port delivery, evaluate whether they named CY or CFS and stopped using the word door. Trust is vocabulary discipline. Mixed words are a failed evaluation even if the people are polite.
9. LCL vs FCL evaluation on the same city
Give them a cube near the crossover. Trustworthy houses enjoy the comparison because it prevents a bad fit. Houses that refuse the comparison are protecting margin or habit. Either way, you have evaluated their courage. Book the courageous one if the rest of the card passes.
10. Packaging evaluation: send an ugly photo on purpose
If the cargo is real, send a real photo. A trustworthy desk will comment on lean, strap, and wood. A desk that says no problem on a collapsing stack has evaluated themselves. Believe them. They will also say no problem at destuff when the claim starts.
11. Customs evaluation: ask who is wrong if HS is wrong
You want a house that says classification is a joint risk and wants materials and function. You do not want a house that guarantees a duty percentage in chat. Duty is not a freight product. Evaluating that boundary is how you avoid a trustworthy-sounding lie.
12. Customer service evaluation in two working days
Change one dimension. Add one restriction. Ask for the destuff CFS or CY name. Time the reply. Trustworthy operators correct the cube and stop the general-cargo story if the restriction requires it. Slow charm is not trust. Fast correction is trust.
13. How to evaluate insurance without turning it into theatre
Ask what is offered, who is assured, and how a claim starts. You do not need their full policy PDF on day one. You need to know the path. A house that waves insurance away because we are careful is asking you to self-insure without saying so.
14. How evaluation reduces cost
Evaluating scopes before booking is cheaper than evaluating them in a destination warehouse. Storage, second brokers, and panic air are the cost of a skipped scorecard. Spend a day on the table. You are reducing cost even if you do not change a freight line.
15. Air, sea, rail, express: evaluate the no
Ask which mode they will not recommend on your card. A trustworthy multimodal house has a no. Record it. If they have no no, you have evaluated a catalogue, not an operator.
16. Reference evaluation without leaking your programme
If you call another importer, ask about destuff updates and arrival invoice match, not about their rates. Rates are not transferable. Behaviour is. Evaluate behaviour. Keep your own cargo card private until you award.
17. Common evaluation mistakes
Evaluating only price. Evaluating only English fluency. Evaluating a sample file that does not look like the programme. Evaluating a collect CY house for a DDP door programme. Evaluating ten houses with ten cards. Those mistakes produce a trustworthy feeling and an untrustworthy arrival.
18. How long to spend before you book
On a standard general-cargo card, a few working days of matched quotes is enough. On DG, batteries, or a first-time DDP country, spend longer on the importer sentence. Do not spend weeks collecting logos. Evaluation has a close date, the same way CFS receiving does.
19. What to send Xinhan Logistics as the evaluation pack
The cargo card, the named place, the mode you think you want, and the questions you still need answered: destuff location, importer model, LCL/FCL crossover, insurance. We will answer those as a file. That answer is the evaluation.
20. Evaluate the origin story against a real industrial park
Ask whether they have received in the city your factory actually uses. A house that knows Yiwu receiving and a house that knows a Shenzhen park are not interchangeable. Trustworthy evaluation includes origin geography. A national slogan is not geography.
If they cannot name a receiving warehouse personality for your city, you have evaluated a salesperson. Keep looking.
21. Evaluate how they treat a changed cube after the quote
Tell them the CBM might move by 10 percent. A trustworthy house says they will re-measure and reprice the group. An untrustworthy house says no problem and then argues at destuff. The sentence you want is the re-measure sentence. Write it down.
22. Evaluate destination geography the same way
A house that destuffs weekly in your gateway is not the same as a house that destuffs when they have enough cargo. Ask the frequency. Ask the CFS name. Evaluation without a destuff name is evaluation of a hope. Hopes do not release cargo.
23. How long their last three updates took on a live file
If they can share a redacted milestone thread, read the gaps. Two-day gaps on routine sea news can be normal. Week-long gaps after destuff was due are not. You are evaluating a rhythm. Brochures do not have rhythms. Threads do.
24. Evaluate the arrival invoice policy in writing
Ask which lines can appear only after an exception email. If they cannot answer, you have evaluated a quote artist. Trustworthy houses hate surprise lines because they create collection fights. Put the policy in the booking. Then the evaluation has a close.
25. Evaluate English as an operating language, not as charm
You need paper the destination broker can file. Charming voice notes do not file. Ask for a sample milestone in English. If they cannot write destuff booked or CY available, you have evaluated a factory friend. Factory friends are useful. They are not always international operators.
26. Evaluate peak-week behaviour with one calendar question
Ask what happens if your ready date sits against a Chinese holiday. A trustworthy answer is a cutoff date and a fork: wait or air. A charming answer is we will try. Book the cutoff. Leave the charm on the website.
27. Evaluate who they are when the factory packs late
Late factories are normal. Trustworthy houses rebook receiving or tell you the sailing is dead. Untrustworthy houses pretend the cargo is still on the vessel you already announced to your buyer. Ask for the sentence they will send you on a late pack. If they have no sentence, you have evaluated a hope.
28. Evaluate their customs vocabulary on your commodity
If you ship furniture, batteries, garments, or machines, listen for the restriction words that belong to that cargo. A general we handle customs on every commodity is not an evaluation pass. Ask one commodity-specific question. The quality of the answer is the score.
Xinhan Logistics will ask for materials and function before pretending a duty line is known. That question is the evaluation you should want.
29. Evaluate last-mile honesty before you award a door programme
Ask whether the truck is a tautliner, whether a tail-lift is assumed, and what happens if nobody receives. A trustworthy door operator writes those rules. A CY operator pretending to be a door operator waves them away. Award the writer if you actually need a door.
30. Book only after the place and the paper agree
A trustworthy China freight forwarder is the house whose quote, document list, and customs sentence agree with your named place. When those three agree, book. When they do not, keep evaluating. Send the card. Xinhan Logistics will not ask you to trust a slogan. We will quote a product.
